AM’s Arena … a brain massage

Nahh, I’m not announcing the band split already.

We just realized that there is almost a thousand bands named Mainstream all around the world, and this is really uncool.
So after a long quest after a new band name (all the possible/cool names we could ever imagine in the world are unavailable already) we have decided to call ourselves Own Heroes, and that is simple, it is because we trust in no false heroes! Living in the sh*** world we live today, it is easy to become an asshole with eyes only for your own belly, it is easy to be a piece of flesh which doesn’t make any difference for the world and think of yourself as a god, and it is easy to be something with no soul/desires/will at all. We’re not like these, we wanna make the difference and we know we can, and we know that we are all equal in rights. We’re our own heroes.

Q. Ok… in first place what the hack is “Mainstream”?
A. I tell ya… “Mainstream” is a band project of 4 guys from the work (Daniel “Debonzi”, “Luis” Machado, “Kleber” Saciloto, and myself)

Q. Ok… but why first songs? Are you guys composing your own songs??? OMG!!!!
A. Absolutely, you got it right!!! Everybody knows I always liked composing my own songs (or at least trying) and a couple a weeks ago I came up with an music idea and for my surprise the guys kinda enjoyed! We then met, made some changes here and there and decided to record it decently (I did record them using an old acoustic guitar and a terrible microphone just to save the idea and to send the guys). So I borrowed an amplifier from Preto (thanks a lot, man), replaced a few components of my old guitar (none of the potentiometers were working anymore after 4/5 years of no use) and gave it a try!

Luis sent me a drum line (recorded on his awesome electric drum), I recorded a few guitar lines, vocals and backings on my own and sent it to Debonzi for the bass line recording.
And now you can check the results:

The songs are not finished yet (basically the end of them both are not correct) but you can have an idea of what we having in mind for the band! Write down that name “Mainstream”, you’ll hear of us!

As I always say I’m not a musician (even less a composer) and we’re all (except for Luis that is a drum monster) learning how to play so please don’t be harsh!

Estou sendo malvado, reconheço. Mas a muito tempo eu não ria tanto!

Last week I bought myself a Nintendo Wii and played that for the first time today. Oh my gosh!! It is such a crazy thing to punch the air and see your character punching something else on the television screen.

I remember the day when the people used to have a lot of fun with the “one button one stick” controllers. I can also imagine what kind of video-games (holograms, who knows?) my children will be playing.

I wish also Nintendo release some kind of SDK where “normal people” could use to develop its own games for Wii. It would be wonderful.

Always complaining about the lack of time (for everything else besides work), I buy myself a new video-game to start having even less time… shame on me!
